From the Pipe Major

Here we go, entering our fifteenth year. The band starts this season with twenty-five musicians: fifteen pipers, four snare drummers, four tenor drummers and two bass drummers.

City council awarded us a $5,000 grant to finish off our uniforms. That covers replacement items, upgraded sporrans and new winter jackets, which should get their first outing at the Remembrance Day service in Lake Country on 11 November. Two of our newer pipers will be in uniform for the first time at the Winter Carnival Parade.

We are eleven women and twelve men, fourteen of us mature adults and mostly seniors, nine younger members, and our youngest is fifteen. Anyone with an interest in the music is welcome, and instruction is given by members of the band.
